Peaky Blinders has been a remarkable success. Over five seasons, it has amassed an incredible following all over the globe, catapulting Cillian Murphy into superstardom.
The show has had a massive impact on pop culture, especially in the way many people dress. Flat caps are back in a big way and it's nearly all thanks to the BBC programme. That is far from the only example, but it is now stepping into the world of gaming.
Peaky Blinders: Mastermind will be released later this year (possibly as soon as the summer), coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. While the game was announced last year, we were only given a first real glimpse at it a few days ago.
The first official trailer for the game has been released and it certainly looks like a bit of something different. It has been described as 'part action, parts puzzle, part adventure' and will feature all the main characters from the show.
You can watch the trailer below.
The trailer would seem to indicate that is mostly a strategy game, but the way it is presented is certainly a lot different to what you would see from other recent released.
The game will be published by Curve Digital, who's publishing director Simon Byron said they wanted the game to be intrinsically linked to the TV series:
There’s often scepticism about licensed titles.
We’ve worked really hard to ensure this is a game which stands within the Peaky Blinders universe, whilst bringing something completely fresh and original.
You will control a number of different characters, all of whom will have a different skillset based on their personalities and actions in the show.
While there is no official release date announced as of yet, it will be released at some point later this year.
