As he approaches 30 appearances for Manchester United's first team, you would think Kobbie Mainoo is beginning to adjust to life as an established Premier League footballer. But at times the 19-year-old still cannot believe his incredible rise over the past 12 months.
It was no surprise when the young United midfielder mentioned FIFA when asked how he was coming to terms with rubbing shoulders daily with such big stars.
Even all the players I play with...coming up, I used to play with them on FIFA, and now we're in training together, playing games together.
But Mainoo was a massive fan of one player in particular when he played the game:
Casemiro was on my team for a long time. He did a good job for me.
"I used to play with them on FIFA" 😂

FIFA Rebranded
EA's shift away from the FIFA branding has led to the development of a new football gaming series called EA Sports FC.
In 2023, following a three-decade partnership, FIFA and EA decided to end their relationship when the publisher chose not to continue licensing the FIFA branding, citing a reluctance to "pay a premium" for the license. In response to EA's decision, FIFA announced its own plans to develop and release its own game.
EA revealed its intention to forge ahead with EA FC as a new football gaming series, while FIFA responded by confirming its own independent game project (which has yet to be announced).
This years game FC 25 due to be released on Friday September 27, 2024 looks similar to previous games, albeit the animations have been heavily improved and everything flows so much better. A bunch of new mechanics have been introduced such as the Playstyle+ where your team unlocks upgraded versions of offensive and defensive maneuvers.
