A new franchise from Bethesda has been a long time coming (25 years to be exact), but it looks like fans are going to have to sit tight for a little bit longer as the studio have announced that Starfield is now set to release later in the year.
Bethesda Unveil Starfield's Release Date In New Trailer
Bethesda have dropped a new trailer which confirms Starfield's official release date as September 6th, 2023. The game was initially penciled for a release date of November 2022, but then Bethesda pushed the release back to the first half of 2023, meaning this is the second time the game has been delayed.
It's not all bad news however, as this announcement has come in the form of a new trailer which showcases a minute of jaw-dropping celestial visuals from the game backed by a stunning sample from Starfield's soundtrack.
The second half of the announcement video features a message from Bethesda's endearing lead designer and executive producer, Todd Howard, who shares his excitement for Starfield, saying:
We have poured ourselves into this game and even I'm surprised at how much we can pour, it is large.
Todd goes on to speak about an upcoming event on June 11th by the name of Starfield Direct which will detail the game further prior to it's release:
This June, we’re gonna bring you into the studio and give you a deep dive in the game at our Starfield Direct. There’s so much that we still have to show you. The game has many of the hallmarks that you’d expect from us, but it’s also a very unique experience.
Mr. Howard goes on to thank fans for all their support and feedback, reaffirming that he too is excited for a new release from Bethesda.
Starfield will be playable on PC and Xbox Series X/S and be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
