It's a game that has a huge cult following and when you hear what it's about it is easy to understand why. Rocket League is football with cars and it will soon be available for free!
Originally released in 2015, Rocket League is still as popular as ever - with 75 million players to date - and expect that popularity to grow when it moves to free-to-play later this summer.
The game's developer, Psyonix, was bought by Epic Games last year and part of this summer's revamp will see the game move from Steam to the Epic Games Store on PC (those who have downloaded via Steam prior to the move will still be able to play it).
For anyone who already has played the game, they will be receiving a host of perks, including all Rocket League-branded DLC released before free to play. When revealing their plans, Rocket League's developers also explained some details about the overhaul they are planning for the actual game itself:
"What does this mean for the Rocket League gameplay you know and love? The core gameplay will remain the same, but we are refining the main menus to make exploring the game easier.
"Plus, we’re revamping and improving major features like Tournaments and Challenges, and introducing cross-platform progression! Rocket League action on the field will still be the same core, high-octane hybrid of sports and action you love today, and soon, even more players will share that love. That begins with Rocket League's release on its newest platform: the Epic Games Store."
It is a game that will enthral, infuriate and excite in equal measure and definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.
