Red Dead Redemption 2, one of the most eagerly anticipated games of the last five years is a mere few days away, with the launch trailer dropping today and more and more info starting to leak.
According to a Japanese listing, Red Dead Redemption 2 will come on two discs. Rockstar has said that the download size for the game will be between 88-105GB so it wouldn’t be at all surprising if this information is true. Games on the PS4 use Dual Layer Blu-Ray discs which have a capacity of 5OGB while the Xbox One also uses the same type of disc. So, at least everyone will be in the same boat. We’ll just have to wait and see whether Rockstar has managed to split the data so that the game is playable on one disc.
RDR2 won’t be the first Rockstar game to feature on multiple discs. Back in the Xbox 360 days, LA Noire came on 4 discs because the 360 used DVDs instead of Blu-Ray discs.
Meanwhile the trailer has only further fuelled the hype for the official release of the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on Xbox One and PS4 on the 26th of October. Players can pre-load the game onto their console starting this Friday. Rockstar's last game, Grand Theft Auto V, has gone on to become the most profitable entertainment product ever made. It has sold over 90 million copies worldwide and made over $6 billion in revenue.
