Big, and potentially lucrative, news for PlayStation 5 users, with Sony going to court after a huge lawsuit was brought against them by a consumer rights activist.
The activist in question, Alex Neill, believes that Sony are guilty of charging excessive prices to PlayStation customers and 'taking advantage of their loyalty'.
PlayStation 5 Users Could Be Entitled To A Tasty Payout
According to GamingBible: "As a result of the class action lawsuit, PlayStation customers may also receive compensation. If you were one of the 8.9 million customers who made a PlayStation Store purchase between August 19, 2016 and August 19, 2022, you could be eligible for anything from £67 to £562, plus interest."
However, the lawsuit is expected to last years, so the compensation, if any, may take awhile.

“This is the first step in ensuring consumers get back what they’re owed as a result of Sony breaking the law,” Alex Neill said.
“PlayStation gamers’ loyalty has been taken advantage of by Sony who have been charging them excessive prices for years.”
“It is significant that the competition court has recognised Sony must explain its actions by ordering them to trial. With this action, we are seeking to put a stop to this unlawful conduct and ensure customers are compensated.”
