More big news regarding the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and its hardware has come to light in recent days, thanks to a Japanese analyst.
Hiroshi Hayase, an analyst with Omdia, has said that the screen size for the new console will be 8 inches, and that it will be released later this year.
Bloomberg were first to report on the news and they say that 'his research focuses on small and medium displays and he bases annual forecasts on checks with companies in the supply chain', and that 'Osaka-based Sharp Corp. last year said it was supplying LCD panels and working closely with the maker of an upcoming console that was then at the R&D stage.'
This is an increase on the 6.2 inch screen of the original Nintendo Switch, and an increase of an inch on the OLED version.
While it does not sound like much, as you can see from the picture below it is a significant amount, and it is very possible that a later version of the Switch 2 will be released with an even larger screen.
