The latest instalment of the lauded fighting game series, Mortal Kombat, was released in September by Warner Bros. Games, and has so far received rave reviews.
Mortal Kombat 1 is the 12th game in the main series, and has an average rating of 83 on Metacritic.
One element of the game that fans are particularly enthused by is the ability to play as the Image Comics superhero, Omni-Man.

The character has been around since the 90s, but received further fame in the Amazon Prime Series, Invincible, where he was played by J.K. Simmons, who also voices him in the game.
Players have taken to social media to share their love or the character and his fatality moves, and clips of his brutality combos.

Also part of the Mortal Kombat 1 cast is Jean-Claude Van Damme.
In a recent interview, the series creator, Ed Boon, explained just how special it was to get the legendary Hollywood actor on board.
"Thirty years ago we basically wanted to make Van Damme: The Game and could not make it happen," he says.
"A couple of 20-something guys making their first game, going to a film star and saying 'can you be in our game'… I can understand why he wouldn't want to roll the dice!
"Thirty years later, he said yes! And with MK1 being a restarting of everything, it really is a full circle moment."
