After a stunning season with Wolves, Matt Doherty has received some major recognition this afternoon. The Republic of Ireland defender has been included in the FIFA 19 Premier League Team of the Season, being handed an absolutely outrageous player item.
Doherty is part of a 21-man squad that is made up mainly of Manchester City and Liverpool players, with only two representatives from outside the top six clubs.

An 88-overall rating is simply outrageous, but you can't argue that the Wolves man doesn't deserve it. He has been nothing short of phenomenal during their return to the Premier League this season, being the standout player in an extremely talented side.
Doherty has registered eight goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season, and his new player item should allow him to carry that form into FIFA 19.
Every attribute is rated 83 or higher, with his shooting the lowest of the bunch. His pace, dribbling and passing will make him absolutely unstoppable down the right. He would even be a fantastic striker with those stats!
Elsewhere, seven Liverpool players and six Manchester City men make up the bulk of the squad. Mo Salah is the highest rated of the bunch, boasting an 97-overall effort.
He is not the most gifted player in the squad, however. That title falls to Eden Hazard, who has been given a 98-overall player item. This is due to Hazard starting from a higher base, with his 90 OVR regular item.
If you can get your hands on a couple of these lads, you will take some stopping.
