While some players like Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw got deserved upgrades many fans are angry at EA for some of these player ratings.
Fans Anger
Firstly, the glaring mistake for many fans is Mason Greenwood's rating. The young striker has been on fire to start the season, scoring 3 goals so far in the Premier League. At just 19 years old Greenwood has taken a major role in the squad as one of the big attacking threats. At 78 Greenwood is criminally underrated by EA even if its an upgrade on his 77 last year. If you compare him to the rumoured ratings of Phil Foden (84) and Bukayo Saka (80) and you can see why fans are angry at the low rating.
Greenwood EPL stats:
App: 69
G: 20
A: 3
Foden stats:
App: 69
G: 15
A: 8
Mason is two years younger and wasn't playing for a side crowned league champions in three of the past four seasons and yet he has identical numbers😳.
But, but Ole ruined his development n confidence 😢 https://t.co/HK9RBo1zxN— Abhishek Sarkar (@Abhishek_S7) September 14, 2021
Secondly, another big talking point is Marcus Rashford's ratings. The winger's rating is unchanged from last year at 85. Over the last 2 seasons Marcus Rashford has scored the same amount of goals as Heung-Min Son, who got an 89 rating. Rashford's stats even match up to Sadio Mané, who is rated 89 as well. Rashford has registered more assists than the Liverpool winger in the last 2 seasons while only scoring 1 less goal than him.
Lastly, Cristiano Ronaldo's rating has caught the ire of fans. The Portuguese star returned to Old Trafford last month and even at 36 he is regarded as one of the best players in the world. EA have given Ronaldo a 91 rating, making him tied for third best player in the game behind Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi. Ronaldo was still top scorer in Serie A last season and is still one of the best finishers on the planet.

With FIFA 22 less than 3 weeks away now gamers can't wait to play the game even if the players aren't rated high enough for them.
