It was a lifesaver in the days of lockdowns and virtual meetups, but Jackbox TV continues to be one of the best games out there to play with your friends even in 2023.
While you can revisit your old game all you like, adding a few new titles to your collection is no harm. That's especially true if you can get them on the cheap or you can use them to keep in touch with your mates.
Jackbox TV ticks all of those boxes. While Jackbox has been around for years, many people are only discovering it now.
Jackbox TV: What is it?
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Jackbox TV mainly comes in the form of multiplayer mini-games. It is available on most consoles, as well as PC, and you can use your phone to control the game.

How does it work?
All you have to do is go onto the Jackbox TV website and enter the code that appears on your TV before the game begins.
There are six 'party packs' available at the minute, each of which contain five games. You can also download some of the games individually. There are some cracking ones available.
'Quiplash' is very similar to 'Cards Against Humanity', with players each attempting to answer a given question in the funniest manner possible. It may be be even better than the card game, with players able to make up their own filthy and hilarious answers.
'Fibbage' is another great one. Players are given a question with one blank word, and each of you must give your own potential answers.
All of your answers will then appear on-screen, as well as the right answer. If someone picks yours instead of the correct one, you get points. It can get pretty competitive but that's what Jackbox tv is all about.
An updated version of Fibbage is coming to Jackbox TV this autumn.
Where can I buy Jackbox TV - How much is it?
The packs are available on Steam, PS Store, and Microsoft Store. Jackbox tv will set you back around €25 for a five-game set, while some of them can be purchased individually for much less than that.

This is a great way to pass time with the people in your house, but a quick zoom call or Twitch stream will allow you to play with your friends no matter where they are.
Just point the camera at the TV, give them the code to join the game, and away you go. We've tested this out and it works like a charm.
