An Irish mother somehow ended up on ITV's This Morning, discussing how she lost her 10-year-old son to Fortnite after he became addicted to what is one of the world's most popular video games.
In fact she was so annoyed by how much it changed him that she doesn't want people under 16 playing it. Despite the fact that it already has an age certificate of 12+ and she's allowing her 10-year-old son play it. [insert confused face emoji here]
Leo got the game on Xbox just after Christmas and his mother found that while she had no problems getting him to stick to a two hour video game limit in the past, with Fortnite it was proving next to impossible to drag him off at 8pm. It's almost as if she doesn't understand that you can't just bloody walk away when you're one of only five people left in the world's toughest Last Man Standing competition.
I would pull him off it at eight o'clock, but the game is so full of energy and adrenaline ... they are screaming at the television, they are hiding, they're calling each other's names, they're hiding in bases. They're living in it ... It's just different.
She added, 'They're living in it with their friends and then when they try to come out of it and come downstairs, everything is boring.' Tell me about it. As I sit writing this all I can think about is finishing the article as quickly as possible so I can go play some Fortnite!
GG.
