Okay, we realise that all versions of Gaelic Games for the Ps2 were an ignoble failure, but there's no denying how excited the nation was to any sort of GAA video game before they actually got to play it.
In spite of that game's dire gameplay, lack of player names and absurdly easy CPU, everybody seemed to at least know someone who took the plunge, and a petition for EA to take another crack at making a Gaelic football game gained some traction in recent months, meaning that the appetite for a game remains.
One of the biggest faults of the original games was the absence of bonus features of any kind, or alternative play modes, so we here at Balls have decided to make a head-start, and design some for any future game.
Therefore, we are proud to present our GAA Ultimate Team. We've picked current inter-county footballers, and imagined what they might look like were the GAA to borrow FIFA's Ultimate Team mode.
Apologies if we've just made you excited about an idea that will never likely happen. It's such a shame this doesn't exist as the possibilities, linking player chemistry from teams in the same province and the like, would be so much fun.
NB: We are looking to put together a GAA legends team next, so get in touch with us with suggestions for which legends we should include, and how we should rate their various stats!
