Developer FromSoftware has announced a DLC expansion titled 'Shadow of the Erdtree' for the critically acclaimed Elden Ring is officially in development.
Last year, Elden Ring took the gaming world by storm, with diehard Souls fans and casual gamers alike becoming engrossed in the Lands Between. The game has since gone on to win numerous game of the year awards, and last week publisher Bandai Namaco announced the game had surpassed 20 million sales worldwide.
FromSoftware Announce First DLC Expansion For Elden Ring
Today, just over a year since it's initial release, developer FromSoftware announced via Twitter their first expansion for the game, 'Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree' is in the works.

The confirmation has come to the delight of fans, although details on the expansion are scarce with there not even being mention of a release date.
This has created intrigue as to what the DLC might entail content-wise, with fans' speculation based entirely off the singular image accompanying the announcement. The artwork appears to feature Miquella on Torrent and then it's unclear whether it's the Erdtree in a state of decay or if it's the Haligtree in the backdrop, leading to discussion over whether the expansion might take place before or after the events of the base game.
Either way, 'Shadow of the Erdtree' is set to plunge millions of gamers back into the Lands Between all over again.
