Nevermind the 50m downloads, Epic Games finally know they've a winner on their hands when Fortnite made its debut on RTÉ's Claire Byrne Live. As we all know you're nothing in the entertainment area of life if you haven't ended up on some RTÉ current affairs show, with solemn-faced Montrosians debating whether you're bad for people.
Whether it be sex, videos or Monty Python's Life of Brian, there will come a time when someone on the national broadcaster questions your motives.
To be fair last night's discussion around Fortnite was well balanced and it was nice to see them actually put the young people who play to the foreground of the debate. The main issue had surprisingly nothing to do with strategies on how to get that sweet Victory Royale but instead about whether or not the game is addictive.

An Irish mother also showed up on ITV's This Morning to talk about how her son had become completely addicted to the game. One young man interviewed on RTÉ last night pointed out that while it is addictive, it can also be a great social inebriator.

I can't see how anyone can argue that it's addictive to be honest. I mean, sure, I play it eight hours a day and haven't shaved or eaten in about five months but I could stop playing at any time. I swear. I swear!
