Football Manager 2016 is released today and it has brought with it the usual plethora of jokes about it ending relationships, causing grown men to not leave the house for days on end and all the other apocalyptic nonsense that comes with the greatest computer game ever made.
Indeed under The Guardian's review of the game, many are saying they've stopped buying Football Manager because they know they'll waste too much time playing it. 'Waste too much time.' That's interesting phrase. Just what constitutes as waste of time?
As one proud commenter under the post points out, people tend to waste time on shit that's a lot worse these days:
Mr Chi Mew has a brilliant point. How many hours of Friends reruns have you been subjected to by your other half? They'll argue that both of you can watch Friends together but why not do something useful and take over a club in a joint-managerial role? Imagine winning the Champions League with Wycombe Wanderers as joint managers?
I sense a Hugh Grant film coming out of this.
