When the Premier League season ends, there's an inevitable countdown until it starts again. Usually, it's alongside a countdown for the newest FIFA game.
There's drips of information, and plenty of wishlists.
And EA have now released the first official trailer for FIFA 18. They revealed the cover star, and for the first time ever, it's Cristiano Ronaldo!
Marco Reus broke Lionel Messi's streak of cover appearances last season, but now EA have moved onto CR7.

Ronaldo was humble as always in an EA press release:
It is a real pleasure to be on the cover of FIFA 18,
It’s a great feeling and I am grateful to have been chosen
The trailer also confirms the return of the Frostbite match engine, meaning that we'll get even more realistic matches. The engine was the driving force behind the successful 'Journey' mode in last year's game. So much so, that EA have brought it across to the Madden franchise ahead of the release of Madden 18 in August.
Alongside the trailer, EA also confirmed the release date. Schoolkids all across Ireland will be skipping class on September 29th.
It's the first peek we've seen of the latest game in the biggest sporting franchise in the gaming world. The annual E3 Conference takes place from the 15th-18th of June. It's almost nailed on that we'll get a huge chunk of information about FIFA then.
