One of the most anticipated gaming releases of the year has dropped this Friday as the Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree has come out on all platforms.

The DLC expansion will add around 40 hours of new content in total for Elden Ring players to complete, while the main storyline of Shadow of the Erdtree will take about 20 to 25 hours to get through.

The download for the DLC thankfully won't take up to much storage on players hard drives with the size of Shadow of the Erdtree only being around 15 gigabytes.

The DLC has received has received plenty of praise from gaming critics as Shadow of the Erdtree currently has a score of 95 on review aggregator Metacritic at the time of writing, giving it a universal acclaim status.

In their 10/10 review of the DLC, IGN praised FromSoftware for creating a scaled-down experience of the original game with plenty of brutal boss fights and things to discover in it's world.

The base price of Shadow of the Erdtree on its own is €40, with the premium bundle available for €50. There are versions available of the DLC bundled with the full Elden Ring game with the disc bundle edition is available at Smyth's for €65.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Release Date.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree was released on PC at 7am local time in Japan on June 21st, meaning that it was released on PC at 11pm on June 20th in Ireland.

For console gamers, the DLC was released at midnight on June 21st here in Ireland.
