With EA Sports FC set to make its debut later this year, it was always like that the game's developers would bring some big changes to go along with it the game's new title.
After the game was officially unveiled this evening, we have now gotten a first sense as to what some of those changes might be.
Firstly, the game is set to expand its inclusion of women's football. Germany's Frauen-Bundesliga and Spain's Liga F are set to join England's WSL and France's D1F as playable in this year's edition.
However, the biggest changes come in Ultimate Team.
EA Sports FC 24 bringing big changes to Ultimate Team
For the first time, women players will now be part of that particular mode, where they can take to the pitch alongside their male counterparts. Current female players, as well as icons and heroes, will be part of your squads in EA Sports FC 24.
They have also introduced something that gamers have been calling out for for a number of years.
Ultimate Team is all about crafting your ideal squad, one that will evolve over the course of the season as you add more talented player items. Unfortunately, this usually results in some of your beloved team members getting muscled out of the squad.
That won't be an issue moving forward.
It was announced this evening that Ultimate Team is introducing 'evolutions' which will allow gamers to upgrade their players over the course of the season based on their performance on the pitch. This is how EA Sports FC Senior Vice President Nick Wlodyka explained the change:
Ultimate Team is also introducing 'evolutions', allowing you to upgrade players throughout the season based on your play, so that you can build true unique club legends in your squad.
It remains to be seen how this will work in the game, but it is certainly a welcome change.
Gamers will no longer be forced to move on players that they had become so attached to, with their star performers improving along with the rest of the team.
It will be interesting to see what other changes come in EA Sports FC 24.
