Reports have come in that EA have officially began discussion around the next game in the Battlefield franchise.
The main rivals to Call of Duty gained serious ground on their competitor during the 2010s, with critically acclaimed releases such as Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 1.
However, Battlefield 2042 - released in 2021 - has not been as successful.
Game Rant have reported that EA discussed the game in a recent Q1 earnings conference call, where a few vague details were spilled.
The next Battlefield will be a 'reimagining' of the franchise, and built on an entirely new engine, and will have a 'connected ecosystem'.
While the news is very vague, at least it is something for Battlefield fans to grasp to, as they wait in hope for a game that won't be released until 2024 at the earliest.
