Disney have announced that they will be investing €1.3 billion in a new gaming universe with Epic Games, the creators of Fortnite.
The universe will feature characters from across the world of Disney and Fortnite, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Avatar.
Disney Announce Huge Partnership With Fortnite Creators
The trailer for the project says that players will be able to 'play, watch, create and shop', and that it will be launching 'soon(ish)'.
"This is going to be... Epic!" Disney tweeted.

Disney chief executive Bob Iger released the following statement: “Our exciting new relationship with Epic Games will bring together Disney’s beloved brands and franchises with the hugely popular Fortnite in a transformational new games and entertainment universe.
“This marks Disney’s biggest entry ever into the world of games and offers significant opportunities for growth and expansion.”
The head of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney, also chimed in and praised Disney for their initiative.
"Disney was one of the first companies to believe in the potential of bringing their worlds together with ours in Fortnite, and they use Unreal Engine across their portfolio.
“Now we’re collaborating on something entirely new to build a persistent, open and interoperable ecosystem that will bring together the Disney and Fortnite communities.”
