Season 4 of Infinity Ward's of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone arrive this morning, but it was accompanied by some rather unwelcome news for Xbox One users.
While the original game takes up plenty of space on your console, consistent updates have only eaten up more of our memory. Unfortunately that is a a part of modern gaming, but this one was really taking the piss.
The download for the latest update to the game weighs in at a hefty 45GB on both PS4 and PC, while coming in at 44GB on Xbox One, no small amount for a game that you already have on your console.
However, some Xbox users were forced to accept a much larger download of a mammoth 84GB. As you might imagine, this hasn't exactly gone down well for those wanting to get the update.

There was such a response to the news that '84 GB' even started to trend worldwide on Twitter.

Activision have responded, saying they are investigating while the already sizeable update is twice as big for some gamers.
We're actively investigating an issue for #ModernWarfare where some players on Xbox are seeing a larger than expected download size for today's update. Stay tuned for updates

When you add up the required amount of space it takes to install the game and it's subsequent updates, the overall figure stood 190GB before the latest update. For those with a 500GB console, that is nearly 40% of their total memory.
However, the Season 4 patch will reportedly compress some of this data, meaning that after the download the overall space taken up the game will only take up an additional 4GB. You will still need the space to download it, however.
There are no indications as to when the problem for Xbox users, but you better start downloading soon if you want to play the game this evening.
