Streets Of Rage is now available for iOs and Android and it will cost not cost you a bob. The arcade style beat 'em up is available from Google app store. Released as part of the Sega Forever line which includes Golden Axe, Virtual Tennis Challenge, and Beyond Oasis.
Streets of Rage was one of the most popular Sega Mega Drive games from the boom of that console in the 1990s, and now many men and women in their late 30s will be able to waste away the hours reliving their mispent youth for free.
The mobile game is the first emulated Sega Forever game to offer multiplayer supporting local, two-player co-operative gameplay over Wi-Fi, and works cross-platform between iOS and Android users.
Sega have also produced a trailer for the release of the side-scrolling brawler that is bound to whet the appetite:
You can play the game for free, but cloud saves and an ad-free gameplay will set you back $1.99. There's also a 15-second rewind option that can undo a mistake, but you have to watch an ad each time if you don't pay the upgrade fee.
Sega has also announced that cross-platform multiplayer functionality will be added to the emulated versions of Golden Axe and Altered Beast in the near future.
