Over the past few days, Virgin Media have been giving reluctant shoppers the chance to escape boredom and experience some real fun at Dundrum Town Centre. Shoppers can play a nostalgia-inspired game called 'Playtime Defenders' on the big screen.
As viewers of Balls.ie's instagram account will know, the action heated up today as gamer Chris O'Gara was on hand to play the game and chat to our presenter Mick Medeiros.
Speaking at the event, O'Gara gave a unique insight into a gamers life, including, the astonishing amount of hours he spent playing
So I'm a FIFA content creator that's what my life is all about I love football, I love FIFA and I love gaming.
I was a gamer from a very young age, my brother got me into it at six or seven years of age. I always had that love for it and passion for it.
Nowadays (the time I spend gaming) it's not actually as much, I'm more into the content side of it now, But back in the day I was a gremlin: I'm talking seven, eight, nine hours a day just sitting their on the couch not moving.
While O'Gara's huge amount of time spent gaming might have deterred some people from taking him on in Virgin Media's new Playtime Defenders, the easy-to-play game clearly wasn't only for gamers with O'Gara revealing he was struggling:
I have played (Playtime Defenders) now I'm not the best - I'm at the bottom of the leaderboard so I'm claiming that right now. But by the end of the day I wanna be at least top five. If not the day was a waste.
