FIFA 23 has arrived, with gamers all over the globe now attempting to craft their perfect squads. That can be a lengthy process, with everyone needing an initial team to get the ball rolling as they aim for their prime targets. With that in mind we have built the best FIFA 23 starter team to get you rolling in Ultimate Team.
With budget in mind, every player we have selected is available for 1,000 coins or less. You should be able to get the whole team for under 10k.
We have gone with the 4-3-3 (2) formation, which is what was used in our best FIFA 23 custom tactics piece.
Featuring players from both the Premier League and La Liga, here's what we came up with.
The Best FIFA 23 Starter Squad For Ultimate Team
GK: Alex Remiro (Real Sociedad) - 700 coins
Remiro has very solid stats, and with not all that many cheap options in La Liga, he is the best you will get for less than 1,000 coins.
RB: Ricardo Pereira (Leicester City) - 800 coins
Ricardo Pereira is the fifth highest rated right back in the Premier League, making this a real steal.
He has no glaring weaknesses and would be an excellent defensive option to start out.
CB: Pau Torres (Vilarreal) - 900 coins
An 83-rated centre back with decent pace for 900 coins? Sign us up.
Pau Torres is without doubt one of the premier budget options in FIFA 23.
CB: Nayef Aguerd (West Ham) - 900 coins
Aguerd has yet to play a game for West Ham in real life, but that player item is quite decent.
There are very few low budget centre backs in the Premier League at this point of the game, with the Moroccan being the best of those available for triple figures.
LB: Marc Cucurella (Chelsea) - 700 coins
Marc Cucurealla may not have a rare card, but those stats are very promising. He is a ridiculous 1/10th the price of Kieran Tierney, who has an identical overall rating.
He also links up nicely with both Premier League and La Liga players in this side.

CDM: Thomas Delaney (Sevilla) - 900 coins
Solid as they come, Delaney should be a very reliable holding midfielder early on.
Nothing spectacular, but he will get the job done.
CM: Ruben Neves (Wolves) - 900 coins
Pace is a bit of a concern here, but the passing ability of RubenNeves makes him a real asset in midfield for that price.
A good option to have, but you might need to put legs around him.
CM: Koke (Atletico Madrid) - 850 coins
Koke's overall rating has dropped by a couple of points in comparison to FIFA 22, but he is still an excellent option to have in midfield.
Also capable of playing in a deeper role, he should be able to do a bit of everything for you.

RW: Marco Asensio (Real Madrid) - 950 coins
The only thing letting Marco Asensio down is a bit of pace, but his ability on the ball should make up for that in-game.
Finessed shots are really powerful at this stage of FIFA 23, meaning he should do plenty of damage cutting in from the right flank onto his favoured left foot.
ST: Alexander Isak (Newcastle United) - 1,000 coins
Striker aren't cheap, with any possessing pace in the high 80s seeing their price skyrocket at this stage.
Isak isn't quite blistering, but he has enough speed to get in behind opposition defences. Combine that with decent shooting and dribbling stats and you've got as good as you will get for 1,000 coins.
LW: Luis Morales (Levante) - 750 coins
Morales is also capable of playing through the middle, but those stats also lend themselves to playing out wide.
His pace has dropped in this game, but he's still a good option at that price point.

The Team In Full
This is a well balanced side, with every player having at least two chemistry. As starter squads go, this gives you the best chance of succeeding on FIFA 23.
It does lack a bit of pace in certain areas, although you are going to have to spend a lot more to get a few speedsters in the side.
Cheap and cheerful, this XI will allow you to save up some coins to get your prime targets a little bit further down the line.
