The Best FC 24 Custom Tactics
What is the best formation in FC 24?
There are a number of useful formations in this year's game, but for our FC 24 custom tactics, we have gone with 4-3-3 (2) as the best formation for EA FC 24 ultimate team.
This is a straightforward 4-3-3 formation, with the only difference being the inclusion of a central defensive midfielder. This should add a bit of extra protection at the back, especially when you tinker with the player instructions.
This is a solid formation. Not only will it give you extra bodies in midfielder to help in attack and defence, but pushing the wide players a bit further up also offers an extra bite in the final third.

Player Instructions
Player instructions are vital in order to put your own individual stamp on your team, while they should help bring out the best of the players that you have available to you.
Below we have outlined the changes we made to each position in our FC 24 custom tactics.
You should implement the following instructions:
- Fullbacks: Set one fullback to stay back while attacking.
- Central defensive midfielder: Stay back while attacking, cover centre.
- Winger 1: Cut inside, come short.
- Winger 2: Cut inside.
- Striker: Stay central, get in behind.
All other players should remain on the default settings.
There are a few reasons we have opted for these instructions for our FC 24 custom tactics.
By instructing one of the fullbacks and the defensive midfielder to stay back, you should get a bit more defensive solidity and be better able to deal with opposition counterattacks. You could even tell both fullbacks to stay back, although we like to give the ability to the one with more attacking power to get involved further up the pitch.
In the front three, these settings give a nice mix. The striker should be looking to get in behind at every opportunity, while both wingers should cut inside to allow for easier linkup play. By having one of them come short, it will give you an easier out ball in order to launch counterattacks of your own.
If you want to increase the number of crosses you put into the box, you could opt against telling one or both of the wingers to cut inside.

Custom Defence Tactics For EA Sports FC 24
For our defensive style, we opted for 'pressure on heavy touch'.
This gives you a nice balance, in that your players will press the opposition if they are facing towards their own goal or make a mistake, but will not rush up the pitch so much that it fatigues your team or leaves you exposed at the back.
A width of 35 should clog up the central areas a bit more to avoid counterattacks, while a depth of 50 will allow you to press a bit easier in the situations mentioned above. It also isn't so deep that it allows the opposition to shoot from distance without much pressure on them.

Custom Attacking Tactics For EA Sports FC 24
There is a bit more variation in terms of the offensive options you can use in your FC 24 custom tactics. Personally, we prefer a more fast-paced style, something that will suit a pacey team.
As a result, we would advise the 'fast build up' and 'forward runs' combination, something that should allow you to counterattack at pace and get players in behind the opposition defence.
It is worth pointing out that this can make it slightly more difficult to beat an opposition press, but the pros outweigh the cons in our opinion.
In terms of width, we go with '30' in order to get more players in central areas. Select 5/10 for players in the box, along with 3/5 and 2/5 for corners and free-kicks respectively.
This is an approach where pace and power will help a lot, and if you can combine that with some good linkup play at the edge of the box, you should be onto a winner.
