Aside from being one of the very best players in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers is a very interesting man.
He earned an SAT score of 1300 (that's very good), and is in a relationship with Olivia Munn, but what really earned our respect was his appreciation for an unsung Premier League legend.
When sitting down to watch Bill Simmons' 'Any Given Wednesday' interview with Rodgers we did not expect to hear about his fondness for the Australian soccer team, but that is exactly what we heard as the Green Bay Packers QB revealed that his love of FIFA (the video game, not the organisation) saw him form a special bond with the Socceroos.
After explaining that he was a 'great' Halo 3 player in his day, Rodgers said that he didn't play Madden, only Halo and FIFA, where he then revealed that his teams of choice were Liverpool and Australia.
When asked why he played with Australia in an online world where Bayern, Real Madrid, and Barca are used as standard, he gave a very brief but very cool shout out to the one and only Mark Viduka.
Australia, the national team, I just like them.
Mark Viduka was unstoppable, scorin' goals.
Real recognise real.
That is something we honestly did not see coming but it was enjoyable all the same, Rodgers will now need to be inducted into our list of professional athletes who are also big-time gamers:
