After months of rumours, Sony has officially unveiled the PlayStation 5 Pro bringing enhancements to many existing games.
Boasting better GPU performance, advanced ray-tracing, and AI-powered upscaling, the PS5 Pro aims to eliminate the choices many users have to make between performance and fidelity modes, it aims to have both modes running simultaneously.
The journey continues with PlayStation 5 Pro.

The PlayStation 5 Pro will initially be available to pre-order directly from PlayStation on September 26th, before being offered through other retailers on October 10th. It’s official release date is November 7.

Since the same PS5 games can be played on the device, this also means some titles have received improvements. Here is a list of every PS5 Pro-enhanced game that have been confirmed to be getting updates:
- Alan Wake 2
- Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
- Demon’s Souls
- Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
- Gran Turismo 7
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- The Crew Motorfest
- The First Descendant
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered
Those are all the games we know will be enhanced for PS5 Pro so far, with hopefully more to come. The pro version will cost a steep €799 making it the most expensive console from Sony to date.
With the new hardware hitting the shelves in November 2024, there could be more third-party developers doing the adjustments required to their games to also receive the ‘Enhanced’ label in the new year.
Paul Tamburro, from news website PlayStation LifeStyle, said fans had been hoping the console could "bridge the gap" between performance and fidelity modes, and the upgrade would help despite the unattractive price:
"It also feels that the console doesn't do enough to justify that steep price point,"
It launching without a disc drive and still only targeting 60 FPS is disappointing.
This isn't an easy sell to current PS5 owners."
