Paul Carey was the star-man kicking 1-4 as Padraig Pearses dumped Corofin out of the Connacht championship at the quarter final stages.
Carey's tenth minute goal gave the Roscommon champs the initiative in the first half but it was his goal-line block moments later which drew the praise of his manager, Frank Canning.
Pearses led by 1-8 to 0-3 at half-time having dominated the game but Corofin rallied hard in the second half, kicking four unanswered points to leave just three between the teams heading into injury-time.
Kevin Johnson's side pushed everyone up the field in their bid to equalise the game with a late goal but they were caught out at the other end, with a long ball finding Jack Nevin.
Bernard Power was out the field and all the substitute Nevin had to do was dribble it into an empty net, booking their place in the semi-final next weekend against Leitrim's Mohill.
Afterwards, Pearses manager Frank Canning praised Paul Carey for his goal-line block.
"Absolutely fantastic, and it reminds me of Paul Mannion a couple of years ago with the Dublin footballers. That's what's required. In my book, he shouldn't be thanked for that. But Paul knows himself, the harder he works, the better he is."

"If we perform we feel we're as good as anyone. But you just have to go out and do it," he said.
"It's wide open. We're playing Mohill next week and that's the next worry. There's probably a bit of pressure on us now because we have to do it again. We believe in them. They're great guys with great attitudes."
