Justin McCarthy faces the guillotine tonight and hopefully time will be called on this truly unexceptional sports controversy.
We love those objective RTE sports polls so much we're publishing our own to gauge the pulse of the nation in the countdown to the moment of reckoning. Leave your answers in the comment section.
What are your feelings on the Limerick hurling dispute?
a. While McCarthy may be a classy hurling man, he should be tarred, feathered and forced to spend a night in Peter Clohessy’s pub for dragging the Irish sports public through the longest, most unsavoury sports controversy since George Hook’s bowels failed.
b. McCarthy should be canonised and the fault here lies entirely with the unoriginal, self-interested mob of players. It's blind obedience of this type that got the nation into its current predicament.
c. I am only entertained by foreign games where athletes receive financial compensation for their time and commitment
d. I am still making up my mind. What does Marty Morrissey think?
