The Irish diaspora across 80 countries can now watch GAA matches online.
GAAGO is a new subscription based online streaming service for the Gaelic Games outside of Ireland. The service was set up by RTE and the GAA and helps showcase our indigenous games in every continent except Antartica.
Unsurprisingly, North America, Great Britain, Australia and Canada are the countries with the highest numbers of subscribers. However, there is no reason why we won't see a large increase in O'Neill's jersey sales in the Dominican Republic or Bahrain once they get bitten by the GAA bug.
Viewers have the option of paying €10 per match they watch, this increases to €14 once it reaches the quarter final stage. You can also buy a season ticket which will give you access to all 45 televised games from both All-Irelands but it will set you back €110.
Not only does the service allow users to stream matches live but they can also watch old games through the on-demand service. The dramatic Leinster Hurling semi-final draw between Galway and Kilkenny.
Maybe Joe Canning gained a significant following in Honduras after that performance, who knows?
