Joe Brolly has tweeted once again in opposition to the Sky GAA deal.
SKY = TV3 plus Baywatch babe
— Joe Brolly (@JoeBrolly1993) May 20, 2014
One wonders how Rachel Wyse will feel about being considered mere eye candy - though Brolly claimed that any sexism is on the part of Sky for what he sees as their "formula (and culture) of using only beautiful female anchors". Journalist and academic Dr. Elaine Byrne was having none of Brolly's approach.
“@JoeBrolly1993: SKY = TV3 plus Baywatch babe” Sexism on full display there Joe. God forbid a woman would have audacity to comment on GAA.

Joe further outlines his argument to Byrne in this reply.
@michaelmc_hugh @ElaineByrne you miss the point Michael. SKY's formula ( and culture) of using only beautiful female anchors is sheer sexism
— Joe Brolly (@JoeBrolly1993) May 21, 2014
@ElaineByrne @RACHEL_WYSE think whatever you like. SKY's sexist approach is absolutely shameless
— Joe Brolly (@JoeBrolly1993) May 21, 2014
Ironic @JoeBrolly1993 complains of "SKY's entrenched beautiful anchor formula" given the testosterone fuelled peacocks on RTE sports panels.
— Elaine Byrne (@ElaineByrne) May 21, 2014
We might not have heard the end of this.
Is Brolly's anti-Sky moaning getting tiresome, or does he have a point? Or more to the point here, does his 'Baywatch babe' view of Sky presenters make him a sexist?
Do let us know.
