The Irish Times have published a graph comparing the speed of an Anthony Nash penalty compared to that of a baseball pitcher or a fast bowler in cricket.
While much has been made of Nash's penalties and the distance he makes in the run-up, I'm surprised at how close the results of this study are. Not taking away from the fact that a 93mph sliotar flying at you from 13 metres out sounds terrifying, but the idea that a baseball pitcher can throw a ball at such speed is insane.
I'd also like to see the speed of me running for the hills when facing down a Nash penalty also measured.
