This year's All-Ireland quarter-final stage will see a major departure from previous years. In place of the straight knockout format will be two round robin groups of four teams dubbed the Super 8.
The groups will be comprised of the four provincial winners along with four more teams who emerge from the qualifiers.
The new system has been introduced on a three-year trial basis.
The make-up of the groups will change on a yearly basis. This year, it is as follows:
Group One: Munster winners, Connacht winners, Ulster runners-up or round four qualifier, Leinster runners-up or round four qualifier.
Group Two: Ulster winners, Leinster winners, Munster runners-up or round four qualifier, Connacht runners-up or round four qualifier.
