Westmeath are one of three counties who are still searching for a new manager since the conclusion of the 2024 championship.
Only Derry and Clare are still on the hunt for a new man in charge, and although counties like Tyrone and Monaghan seemed to get their replacements sorted quickly, it can be a drawn out process.
Dessie Dolan left his position as manager on August 9th, after three years with the team that also saw him guide the county to the first ever Tailteann Cup win.
Speaking to the Westmeath Examiner this week, County board chairperson Frank Mescall has pleaded for patience as they continue their search.

“We are still talking to people and it would be totally unfair to comment on speculation.
“The committee is working extremely hard on this, and it is not an easy task. We have spoken to a number of people, but we have not yet managed to get someone suitable in place. I thought a few weeks ago that we might be in a position to make a proposal, but that was not the case.
“The people we are targeting have a lot of commitments and it is proving to be a considerable challenge, but we are asking people to be just a bit more patient.
“I accept it’s not ideal and we would have liked to have someone in place for the knockout stages of the football championship, but we do want to get the best possible candidate for the position.”
It won't be long until we see Dolan back on the sidelines again however, as the former All-Star has agreed to manage the Leinster team in The Railway Cup 'sandbox' games.
The tournament is being played to try and trial the new rules, and is another reason that Westmeath, Clare and Derry will want to get their manager sorted, as there will be a lot of coaching and adapting needed in the 2025 season.
