Waterford overcame a stern Galway challenge in Walsh Park today 1-18 to 2-13 after a late goal from Shane Bennett.
Galway will be disappointed with the final result having led by ten points at half-time thanks to a strong breeze. While the 1-1 from Shane Bennett was crucial, a particular highlight came with his ingenious assist for a Jamie Barron score.
In the second half, Waterford were awarded a line ball. With Bennett shaping up to take the set-piece, he pulled away seemingly to allow someone else to take it. However, Bennett gently tapped the ball before leaving ensuring it was actually in play.
