After 33 years of waiting, the footballers of Carlow have won promotion from Division four. They beat Antrim on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-12.
Building on their strong Championship campaign last year, Carlow led by former footballer Turlough O'Brien targeted the league and won promotion in style, with six wins from six.

Earlier in the year, Carlow's Daniel St. Ledger spoke to the balls.ie So-Called Weaker Podcast and stressed the importance of promotion.
At the start of every year, I've been playing the last 11 years and we've said "we have to get out of Divison four." It nearly became a token thing to say.
This year we have football coming out of our years since before Christmas, that definitely helps to have that sharpness and that edge. For me personally, if we got out of Division four it would be such a big scrap. For me and a couple of other lads who've been in Division four all our careers, it'd be a huge thing just to get out of there.
Carlow's attention will now turn to the Championship, with Louth first up before the winner's face Kildare.
Tonight however, by the looks of it, the party is already well underway.
