There were immensely touching scenes in the aftermath of Louth's 3-9 to 0-8 win over Carlow in the TG4 Leinster JFC Final last Sunday as the players paid tribute to former manager Micheal McKeown, who passed away last month.
The Annaghminnon Rovers clubman became ill on the morning of Louth's semi-final victory over Kilkenny and passed away two days later. The 67-year-olds death left the entire GAA county in shock.
McKeown had led them to the Lidl National Football League Division Four final earlier in the year and his widow attended Sunday's final. She brought a special token to remember Michael, while Louth captain Kate Flood paid tribute to her.
She is brilliant for traveling down here today. It is an absolute credit for her. I'd say it wasn't easy for her, but that kind of drove us on knowing she was there today supporting us. She brought his hat along as well.
