Form Guide
Tipperary qualified for the preliminary quarter-finals after finishing third in the Munster Championship. Tipperary started the championship on fire, beating Clare as well as earning massive draws against Cork and Limerick. However, when the stakes were high things imploded and the Premier County suffered a humiliating loss to a winless Waterford, knocking them out the final places and into third.
Despite their loss to Waterford, when they played Clare, Cork and Limerick they looked like genuine Liam McCarthy contenders. If we see a Tipperary performance akin to the early stages of their Munster championship on Saturday, this game will be a completely one-sided affair.
Offaly qualified for these preliminary quarter-finals after coming second in the Joe McDonagh Cup. Overall they enjoyed a successful campaign, beating Laois, Down, Kerry and Kildare while losing to Carlow in the group stages to qualify for the final. They met Carlow again in the final and the teams were practically inseparable despite a harsh Offaly red card with Carlow only winning after extra time.
While Offaly impressed in the Joe McDonagh Cup, the standard Tipperary have been playing at is significantly higher. They'll be heavy favourites this weekend and Offaly will be doing very well if they can merely keep the scores close.
Team News
Tipperary
Liam Cahill has named three changes for Tipperary as Craig Moran makes a shock return from injury, to play his first game of the season, while Jake Morris and Jason Forde both come back into the forwards. There's still no return for Cathal Barret after his injury earlier in the Munster Championship.

Offaly have named two changes to their side with Eimhin Kelly and Paddy Clancy both coming into the starting line-up after impressive performances in the Joe McDonagh Cup Final off the bench. The duo replace suspended Dara Maher and injured David Nally.
