When we reflect on the format changes to this year's hurling championship, we should gift the person who decided to make the Munster Championship a round-robin the keys to Croke Park. Today Waterford and Tipperary played out an enthralling draw 2-22 to 2-22.
However, Tipperary benefitted from a hugely controversial goal with just five minutes left. A long ball into the square looked to have been cleared only for play to be called back and Austin Gleeson adjudged to have carried it back over the goal-line.
Incredible drama at the Gaelic Grounds!@TipperaryGAA right back in it after a goal is given from this Jason Forde free. Looks like the Umpire gave it! Over the line??#MSHC #GAA pic.twitter.com/bxlNNGQyfv

The goal was given by the umpire who immediately reached for his flag. On co-commentary, Anthony Daly called it an "incredible decision."
Now now now !! There’s a lucky break !!!

It was a game that provided just about everything. Tipperary started brightly only for a Tom Devine strike to give the Deise an early goal. A further blow was dealt to Michael Ryan's side when Michael Cahill was sent-off just before half-time.
Then we had late drama, with Jason Forde adding a last-minute free to level it. At the end, the referee and umpires were escorted off the field.
