Oh dear.
This time last week, Wexford hurling was on the crest of a wave. A huge crowd at Croke Park were in attendance ready to see their Leinster champions make a first All-Ireland final since 1996. They started well. An hour later, they were on the cusp. Then it all fell apart.
A week later, thing went from bad to worse today with Tipperary once again the transgressors, rubbing salt in the Wexford wounds with a dominant, ruthless display to qualify for their second Under 20 All-Ireland final in a row.
Led by senior star Jake Morris and man of the match Jerome Cahill, Tipp were deadly from the start, with full forward Billy Seymour almost hitting the net in the very first minute. Tipp didn't have to wait long though.
By half time, Tipp had scored four goals, book-ended by Andrew Ormond strikes, but Wexford were still somehow in the game, just six points behind. Unfortunately, any hope didn't last long with another four coming in the second half and a misterable week was complete for Wexford. The final score was an unbelievable 8-16 - 1-15.

All over, 1-15 to 8-16 defeat to Tipperary in the @BGEGAA U20 All Ireland hurling semi-final. Hard luck to the lads, well beaten by a better team but they will learn from this and hopefully add to the Wexford hurling story in the years to come. Loch Garman abú.

Last year, Tipp beat Cork to become the final Under 21 champions before the grades changed. This year, they'll have a chance to beat the same opposition to become the first ever Under 20 champions after Cork's victory against Kilkenny yesterday.
