It's only the first week of February but all signs are pointing to the fact that Tiernan McCann may be something of a marked man in 2016 after hair-tussle-nonsense-gate last August.
Although he had his defenders last season, it's fair to say he's not the most liked footballer in the country. That situation wouldn't have changed too much after his collision with Derry's Brendan Rogers just a matter of seconds into the Dr. McKenna Cup final on January 23rd.
McCann got away it that day, much to Derry manager Damian Barton's disgust, but he may want to get used to the kind of hot that was directed at him by Cavan's Killian Brady during the first round of the National League at the weekend. Now we wouldn't go as far as suggesting that Brady purposefully set out to let McCann 'know he was there' but given the reputation the Tyrone man is getting for himself, Brady probably would be regretting the fact that McCann just so happened to be on the end of it.
By all accounts it was a rather dire affair with Tyrone coming out 0-10 to 0-8 victors so you may just want to skip to the moment where the hit occurs around the 0.35 mark.
