We've got very used to seeing a young Kerry team climb the steps of the Hogan Stand at this time on All-Ireland final day. There's a changing of the guard today with Galway and Cork playing out a thrilling final in Croke Park with Cork winning after extra time. However, the drama started way before the 'final' final whistle.
With Galway seemingly in control for much of the game, a strong Cork second half put them in ahead late in the game.
A late Galway goal got them back into it, and the sides were level in injury time.
Then all hell broke loose.
Firstly, substitute Niall Cunnigham broke through for Galway. While most would take the point, Cunningham decided to seal the game by burying it into the back of the net and surely winning the All-Ireland for his county.

Unfortunately for Cunningham, Cork wouldn't go away that easily. Immediately from the kick out, Conor Corbett broke through to level the game again.

Even then, there was more drama, with Galway having a late, but difficult free to win it. It sailed wide, and the game would go to extra time.
Cork then took the lead with a goal from Ryan O'Donovan directly from the throw-in to extra time.

The young Rebels never looked back after that, running out 3-20 to 3-14 winners after extra-time.
