Scotland have for the second year in succession beaten Ireland in this year's annual Hurling/Shinty international fixture in Inverness.
Despite possessing a significant number of outstanding hurlers in Lee Chin (Wexford), John McGrath, James Barry (Tipperary) and Conor Lehane (Cork), the Scottish contingent ran out 2-12 to 0-15 winners in the senior tie.
Drawing their team from 12 different counties, Ireland trailed by only 3 points at the break. Having then pulled level, a moment of astounding bravery from Scotland's Roddy MacDonald saw an attempted clearance from Ireland's Laois goalkeeper Enda Rowland come back off MacDonald's helmet and roll into the Irish goal.
From this there was to be no return for Ireland. A late Irish effort did pull this incredible save from Scotland's goalkeeper Stuart MacDonald late on however.

In the earlier U-21 fixture however, it was Ireland who emerged victorious. Limerick's U-21 All-Ireland winning Seán Finn captained the visitors.
