What's at stake?
While both teams are already through to at least the preliminary quarter-final stage, their results this weekend will decide where they finish in the table. First, Second and Third are all still up for grabs, with first place going directly to the quarter-finals, second place having a home preliminary quarter-final and third place an away preliminary quarter-final.
Form Guide
Monaghan are second in the table with a win over Clare and a draw with Derry leaving them on three-points, only second to Derry on points difference. They overcame a weak Clare side by five points, but were really put to the test against Ulster Champions Derry, where they secured a 0-14 to 0-14 draw against the odds.
On the other hand, Donegal have been struggling, they were knocked out of the Ulster SFC in the first round when they were well beaten by Down and things haven't got much better since then. They beat Clare by five points in the opening game of the round-robin but were beaten comprehensively by Derry in the second round, with 3-14 to 1-15 the final score.
When these two sides last met in February, Monaghan were a far superior side, beating Donegal by eight points 1-20 to 0-15.
Monaghan are the favourites here, they're in form and Donegal can't seem to find any form. However, if Donegal could find some form, there are definitely vulnerabilities in this Monaghan side that could be exploited.
