Mayo have registered their first win of this year's National Football League, beating Meath in dramatic circumstances in Navan.
As was the case throughout the country this afternoon, the weather would have a major impact on this one. Mayo played with a strong wind in the opening period and made the advantage count. They led 0-7 to 0-1 at the interval, but the second half was a different story.
Meath would score two goals, putting them into the lead despite only registering four scores in the opening 54 minutes.

It looked like Meath were in control at this point, with the visitors going scoreless for more than 20 minutes in the second half.
However, James Horan's side would win it at the death. It was substitute Kevin McLoughlin that made the difference, coming on to notch a personal telly of 1-2.
His goal in the 70th minute proved to be the deciding moment but it was only made possible after some poor play from Meath defender Robin Clarke. He lost the ball after being far too lackadaisical in possession, with McLoughlin taking his chance well.

This was a huge win for Mayo, who had drawn with Donegal and lost to Dublin in their first two games. Another defeat here would have had them fearing relegation.
Meath have lost all three of their games so far and look set for a swift return to Division 2.
