Forget the 'fine wine' cliché - Maurice Fitzgerlad has taken a leaf out of Benjamin Button's book with this score in his native county.
Playing in the Legends game in Waterville, in honour of the great Mick O'Dwyer's 80th birthday, the 47-year-old Fitzgerald kicked a score from as many yards as he has years to level the game, and it truly could have gone over the bar from 20 yards further back.
Better still, his father Ned (seen in blue watching the action) was present to see his son roll back the years with a monstrous score, as Fitzgerald joined fellow Kerry and Gaelic football icons in Declan O'Sullivan, Seamus Moynihan, Daragh Ó Sé, Johnny Doyle and Dermot Early in celebrating Mick-O's landmark birthday.
In his 13-year inter-county career, Fitzgerald kicked 12 goals and 205 points for The Kingdom. On this evidence, he could probably kick a few more on the off-chance that Éamonn Fitzmaurice is stuck for numbers this summer.
