Well known GAA glory hunter Louis Van Gaal has again sparked controversy by abandoning his support of Portlaoise and deciding to throw his support behind a club from Belfast.
The people of Portlaoise had been delighted with the pull of their first celebrity fan when the Manchester United manager issued a rallying cry of 'Come on the town!' earlier in the week:
But now, they will have to deal with the crushing blow of Van Gaal openly offering love to St Brigid’s of Belfast as the Dutchman left no doubts as to where his allegiance lies:
Passionate.
So this is a thing now? 'Mayo 4 Sam' is all well and good, but Louis Van Gaal is probably sick of the sight of Irish fans at this stage. Then again, you can't spell Van Gaal without 'GAA'.
