Form Guide
Kerry have at times this season left plenty to be desired with their form, yet the business end of the season has arrived and Kerry look like a serious outfit for anybody to contend with. They had struggled in the league campaigns before cruising to a win in the Munster Championship.
However, disaster struck again in the All-Ireland Championship when they suffered a shock loss to Mayo in the opening round, before sluggishly overcoming Cork by two points leaving the defending Champions facing elimination heading into the final round against Louth. Despite Louth holding Cork and Mayo to single-score defeats, Kerry showed the class of a champion side hammering Louth 5-24 to 0-11 to put the prospect of elimination to bed.
On the other hand, Tyrone have had a mixed bag of results. Their consistency leaves little to look at, but, when they've found their form they're certainly no pushovers. They finished third in the group during the round-robin series, losing to Galway, beating Armagh and worryingly only drawing with Westmeath. However, when the chips were down, they beat Donegal convincingly in the preliminary quarter-final to book their spot in Croke Park this Saturday.
While both sides have been relatively inconsistent, Kerry's dismantling of Louth under high pressure has made them Saturday's favourites. If both sides play out their potential very little will separate Kerry and Tyrone and it should be a battle for the ages.
