If you replace somebody in a job, in any walk of life, a sure-fire way to be successful is to simply be different to the person who went before you.
New Top Gear presenter Chris Evans is a man determined to follow this advice. Having seen Jeremy Clarkson sacked for punching Irishman Oisin Tymon in the face, Evans is determined to have much more respect for Irish people and their custom.
Evans and co-presenter Matt Le Blanc have been spending the last few days filming themselves driving a Rolls-Royce around Kerry. They have been spotted doing the regular activities available to famous visitors in rural Ireland: drinking pints and finding hen parties:
Today the presenters decided to interrupt a Gaelic football game in their splendid cars. Happily, however, they did not show a crass disregard for the great Irish game and simply interrupt the first game they saw. Instead, they contacted Dingle, who promptly went about organising a game for the benefit of the show:
The game went ahead this afternoon, and this montage video of the event has surfaced on Youtube, courtesy of Pat Duffy:
It seems to have been a success:
Off to Dingle for some gaelic footy. What a day. pic.twitter.com/PZWirF9Jrf
